I want to thank the members for allowing me to be your Commander one more time. I will continue to work for our membership and the Community in which we serve. I look forward to the positive things coming up in the Spring through the efforts of our Sr. Vice Commander, Kevin Gurley and his committee in an effort to provide programs for our members to re-kindle their relationship with the Post Home. I believe our first effort will be a fantastic MEAT BINGO with more details to follow very shortly.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the LEGIONNAIRE OF THE YEAR for Post #9, Mrs. Maureen Heard. Maureen has been a member of Post #9 for a short time but, she came on board with a mission. It was to serve others. To do the best job in that area was, to become the Service Officer for our Post. She took on the responsibility, learned the job and was an inspiration and, a great help to the families of the comrades that went to the Commander of us all last year.
I look forward to seeing you all at our meeting on the 16th at VFW Post 1617.
